David McDonald (1929-2021)
David McDonald obtained a BBA degree from the University of Miami in 1951 and JD degree in 1953 where he was a member of Iron Arrow Honor Society and served on its Council of Elders. He was admitted to practice in all State Trial and Appellate Courts in Florida, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, as well as the U.S. Military Courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He specialized in aviation law and insurance defense. He had been a member of the Dade County, Florida, American, Federal, Lawyer Pilots and NTSB Bar Associations.
He was a trial attorney for two years in the Staff Judge Advocate’s Office, U.S. Air Force, with additional duties as claims officer at Amarillo Air Force Base, Texas, responsible for the investigation and handling of all Air Force claims and aircraft accidents within portions of a three state area. He has owned, operated and maintained single and multi-engine aircraft and power boats up to 38 feet.
